Here is a bit of fun we do during our cram sessions at HUP. It is a game called "guess the diagnosis". We put at least 3 images, the symptoms a patient is experiencing and 3 choices of a diagnosis. Kind of like multiple choice...look we have to find some fun in this right?
Let us call this Case 1: 26 year old female complains of persistent pain and swelling in her left distal femur for more than 2 months. Cannot recall any injury. Was given 1 cortisone injection which had no effect. The area is hot to touch and red.
Is the diagnosis A. Blood Clot
B. Inflammatory Arthritis
C. Chondrosarcoma of the distal femur
D. Synovial Sarcoma
Please reply with your guess. Winner gets gratification that he/she won!
