Hey guys...So I have an interview coming up and the admissions director told me a portfolio was not required but recommended. I was just wondering what might this include. I don't really have work experience in the field of Pharmacy but I do have extracurricular activities I am involved in. 😕

I brought an elegant portfolio book or whatever you call it. It has a notepad and a folder for various papers. All I had brought with me was my resume and notes I had taken prior to the interviews. Its good to have in case you want to jot down any information during your visit at the pharmacy school. I few solid copies of your resume is all you should bring. It is not required, but it looks good. 👍

GO to Office Max (or whatever) and buy a $20 portfolio (Like Doc said, they say "Elegant" on them in cursive manuscript oftentimes), take along more than one pen, and a pencil, at least 3 copies of your resume / curriculum vitae, 1 each hard copy of letter of recommendation, and a hard copy of your personal statement.

That's what I did, anyway, and it seemed to work out just dandy. Also, have a notebook with you, tucked in your pocket. Pharmacists seem to like seeing that you're able to write, even on the move, when you might not have your portfolio with you (E.g., you left it in the car after the interview when you were doing your tour phase and you need to write something down, voila!).

You guys really brought all that stuff? I don't even have a copy of my LOR's LOL...I wonder if I should bring a copy of my CV and personal statement to my interview with UofA? When I went to UMN, I didn't need any of that stuff. I just brought a portfolio with paper like you said with just a pen.

You can search first about the pharmacy and jot down some info. Be prepared in everything and be confident enough for that interview. goodluck🙂

Like a sidearm, it's a bit of a burden to have with you when you don't need it, but when you do need it, and you don't have it, you really wish you had it.

Thank you so much. This was really helpful and I feel a bit more at ease! I'll let you know how it went!
