Can I just throw in your defense that most of us use online translators in language classes at one point or another? If you have no common sense than I don't either because I certainly never realized it was cheating. (granted I have never straight up just copied from one because the translations usually suck but I use one to help me do my hw all the time) I am not saying its right especially if the teacher said not to in the Honor code but I think its as serious as plagiarism either... more akin to using your calculator to a problem you were supposed to do by hand. I am really glad the charges were dropped because I think they were ridiculous in the first place. Good luck with your language classes.
