Hi everyone just looking for some feedback regarding whether or not to reapply in the coming cycle, or if waiting a year would be a better move.

A little about myself:
CA Resident
3.97 GPA, Biochem
518 MCAT
ORM
*Finishing my degree in 3 years and graduating in June 2020, so younger than the average applicant

I applied with:
Clinical experience:
-30 hrs in hospice
-80 hrs in a very hands-on student hospital volunteering program
Shadowing:
-65 hrs
Research:
-1500 hrs in an independent role; for which I attended undergraduate research symposiums, was recognized for a departmental award, and applied for a university-level grant
Volunteering:
-50 hrs as a private tutor for girls in STEM
-125 hrs Dance Instructor and Teaching Assistant in a local religious/cultural facility
Extracurriculars:
-President/Founder of a women's cultural dance team on campus
-member of another cultural/religious club

If I reapply this year:
-60 hrs in hospice
->300 hrs in the hospital
-100 hrs shadowing
->2000 hrs research
-175 hrs as a dance instructor/TA
-Continued involvement in the same extracurriculars

I know I definitely was a little too eager to this all this year, and likely the issue was in the number of hrs in clinical experience and shadowing as well as my age. I really wasn't clear on everything that the application process entailed and my premed advisor assured me that I would at least get a few interviews and so I could give it a shot.

I received one II and am currently on the waitlist for this school, so reapplying will likely be a reality, but I don't want to make the mistake of rushing it again, but I am also not keen on taking a break from school for 2 years.

I submitted my primary by 07/02, and most of my secondaries had been received and submitted by the end of August.

Schools I applied to- which may very well be a part of the problem:
-All of the UCs
-University of Washington
-University of Maryland
-George Washington
-University of Wisconsin (I lived there for most of my childhood)
-Georgetown
-U Mass (my physician mentor encouraged me to apply he was an alumni)
-USC
-University of Pittsburgh
-U Michigan
-Stanford
-NYU
-Columbia
-U Chicago

All feedback is welcome! Thanks once again!
Also, advice for what I should do in my gap year(s) would also be welcome!

Do you have anything to show from your research productivity wise? I think you should reapply this cycle and cast a wide net. Refrain from non-friendly OOS publics - Washington, Maryland, Mass. Shoot for Einstein, Tufts, Emory, etc and rewrite your essays/PS.

In terms of publication, there’s nothing.
Thank you!

Your school list, and to a lesser extent your low clinical exposure hours, were the reason for your lack of success. For example, U Washington accepts less than 1% of applicants who are not from states in the Northwest and those few appear to be mainly MD-PhD applicants. So basically you were compteting for 2 or 3 spots against thousands of applicants. If you are not accepted off the waitlist at GW by mid June I suggest reapplying to these schools:
George Washington
Boston University
Tufts
Brown
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Hofstra
Einstein
Mount Sinai
Rochester
Seton Hall
Jefferson
Drexel
Temple
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Case Western
Cincinnati
Ohio State
Miami
USF Morsani
NOVA MD
Tulane
TCU-UNT
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin (mention your ties to Wisconsin for this school)
St. Louis
Kaiser
California University
USC Keck
The UC's
