Possible to do research while doing SMP?

I was thinking about continuing my research experience that I am doing right now if I get accepted into an SMP program. Would it be possible to do well in the SMP program and still do about 16 hours of research a week?

i'm sure it depends. i do the bu program and i pull about 20~24 hours of research a week other than exam weeks... i have no weekend though...

I am probably going to apply to the Columbia SMP or the New York Medical College. Most likely it will be New York Medical College.
