I am using my school's letter services to store and submit all my LORs. My school's letter services requires that all LORs in a student's file get submitted to schools. I got a letter from a science professor as a "back up" LOR for those schools that may reject my research letter.I signed up for Interfolio to store my "back up" letter so that I can have the liberty of deciding which schools receive this letter. The reason why I didn't want every school to receive this back up letter was because I had thought that since I haven't been in contact with the professor who agreed to write me this LOR, this letter would be generic at best. But this professor surprised me during our meeting as he really took the time to get to know me and by the end of our conversation, he seemed to be very enthusiastic about writing this letter for me. So now I am thinking to not use this letter as a back up instead I would like to submit it to every school.

Does anyone know if its possible to get Interfolio to submit my LOR to my school's letter service? Since I have already paid for my school's letter service account, I am not charged anything extra to submit the letters in my account to med. schools. But if I submit it via Interfolio, I would have to pay. So, for the sake of saving $$, I would really like to transfer my letter from interfolio to my school's account.

Not sure about submitting your letter from Interfolio to your school's letter service. You ought to ask your school about this, as we have no idea what school you go to, much less what their policies are.

I am bit confused about interfolio's pricing. Is it $6 per school you want the letter delivered to. If this is the case then it would cost me $108 to submit to 18 schools. Or do I only pay $6 to send one letter to multiple schools?

Yes, it's $6 for 10 (or 20?) pages.

And yes, I believe you can have interfolio send letters anywhere.. So you could actually have interfolio send your own letters to you and then you could read them 🙂

🙁 I wish I would have just stored this letter in my school's LOR service account. Will contact Interfolio to find out if they would send it over to my school or not.

Also keep in mind interfolio will send letters for free via electronic transfer to most other letter servicers. They have some kind of agreement to help spread business. So all the letters that came from vert evals went to interfolio for free and all lors that went to amcas were free.

UPDATE: My undergrad had the nicest professor one could ask for. The professor who wrote me this "back up" letter agreed to send a copy of my letter to my school's letter services. I am just so grateful that I don't have to pay $108 to Interfolio anymore!🙂

I'm in a similar situation. Sorta. I got two DO letters uploaded on interfolio but since I'm not applying this cycle, my school letter service told me to keep them at hand till next year. I'm going to contact interfolio and ask them if they can send the letters directly to my school next cycle.
