So my plan is to move, with my boyfriend and daughter, after I receive my bachelor's degree (hopefully before daughter starts school she's an infant and I start school in a couple weeks), apply for pharm school in various other states (we absolutely hate where we live; Tulsa, Oklahoma). We have our heart set on someplace Northwest, such as Oregon or Washington. Would this choice be unwise as far as getting accepted, and/or pre-reqs being accepted? I did notice Oregon State University pre-reqs are quite different to Oklahoma's, but would having my BS in Bio help? Any advice would be appreciated on this matter...

Well, pre-requisites are pre-requisites, no matter what degree you have. You need to apply to schools for which you've completed the PRs for. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for needing post-bacc. work, which gets expensive and strenuous.

I'd make a list of every school I could possibly apply to first of all, then from there, see where you'd like to live. But honestly, in this economy, you might need to live somewhere undesirable for a few years, get your Pharm.D., and then move somewhere you want to (If you can).

AACP and Pharmcas.org are excellent beginning points for checking out schools, their programs, and locations. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice! I'll start gathering information and try and reach as many pre-req requirements as possible...

Are you starting your BS in the fall? If so, why not move now?
