Post-acceptance personal calls/emails from interviewer?

Have any of you guys had personal emails or calls from your interviewer post-acceptance?

I did from one of my schools (and it's a top school on my list !) , and it was surprising b/c none of the other schools I got accepted to did this. Basically I got a call from my interviewer saying they heard I got accepted, and hoped that I would choose their school and hope to see me next year in class.

I thought it was a really nice gesture 🙂 !

Some schools do that. One of the schools I got an interview invite for sent me a personalized email, and called me (one of the assistant deans) months before they started sending out invites. When I told them I can't make it to the interview due to financial difficulties, they called me up and offered reimbursement. I still could not go (exams, life, and other stuff got in the way); they still replied to my email saying they hope to see me at their school for a residency interview (we will see how easy that will be by the time I graduate... I have a feeling I'm going to end up applying to 20+ residencies.. le sigh) Overall, they were extremely nice. I think it shows how much they care about their potential future students. It is definitely a good sign.

I did get personalized emails for acceptance, but that is awesome that they actually call you.

I believe the class is ~80 students.
But apparently I was the only one that got a call from my interviewer, since no one else that was accepted said they got a call. I guess I just got a super nice interviewer haha

lol I also wondered how they got my number! I'm not sure if schools give applicant numbers out to interviewers or not...

Well the school is already my top choice but the call did definitely make me like them more! 🙂

I got a phone call when I was accepted...nice touch.

Actually it was because I missed the deposit deadline because the email said 30 days and the physical letter said 2 weeks. Oops, haha...

I would think an assistant dean would have access to the accepted students' applications.

I got a phone call about 3 hours after the interview was over. It was also my #1 school. 😎

I never got a call and was accepted to the same school. Some people are probably just cooler than others (as evidenced by the smiley wearing shades). ^^
