Anyone have tips on what to ask in your post application interview? Obviously, why the hell didn't you accept me?!? 😛 I wonder if the interviewer jots down notes in your file during one such interview and if they consider them when you apply next round...

Yes, interviewers do jot down notes during post-interview consults about what they told you to change. If you didn't follow their advice thats a big red flag for the next round.

My interviewer for my post-application interview didn't write down anything during our interview. He had my file sitting on his desk, but didn't open it while I was there. He may have made notes afterwards, though.

As far as questions to ask, I did what I'm guessing pretty much everyone does, so I'm not sure if this will be very helpful...

I looked at the schools website to see if they outline specific criteria for how they select students. I typed those out and added all my information specific to those criteria. During the interview, I just went down the list to see what he thought my biggest weaknesses were, and which things I didn't need to worry about improving. I had a short list of options regarding what to do regarding graduating, taking post-bach classes, summer internships, etc and also asked for any general advice. That was about it.

Hope that helps some, good luck!

Any success stories of people doing the post-app interview after being kicked to the curb and then accepted the following year at the same school? Sorry...I am just a little bummed today.

A doctor I know was telling me that one of the people in her class went to the post-rejection interview, and when they looked at her file, they realized they had miscalculated her total points, and she should have been accepted! So the class that year had one extra person. I am sure the chances of this happening are extremely slim to none, and I would hope that they are very careful when calculating out who gets in and who doesn't! I just couldn't imagine...
