Any of you guys/gals going out of state for a Post-Bac program? I originally planned to go to my CC and complete most if not all of the requirements, but looking into the requirements and limits some D-schools have regarding maximum CC work, I will be cutting it too close since I attended a CC for 2-years before my 4 year university (UCSC). I really do not want to leave Cali or leave the Bay Area for that matter, but I am sorta limited with the options around here (UCSC will only accept me on a concurrent enrollment status, limiting the classes I can take per quarter to 2), and the Post-Bac programs near me are for rejected Dental or Medical students (UCSF and UCD respectively). Since I was an econ major with no science work completed, I think I might have difficulty getting into a Master's program, or would I? If someone can answer this question, I would greatly appreciate it. I am currently taking my inrto Chem at a CC, and plan on taking a full load next quarter, hopefully getting into some Post-Bac/Concurrent/Masters program by fall.

Have you looked into the UCSF post bac program. I think its geared to minorities or students who had to overcome adverse conditions. But from what I have heard it guarantees you a spot at UCSF dental school the following year.

I dont think the limit on CC work applies to those who have a BS/BA.
I started at a CC for two years, transfered to a University, graduated with Business, then went back to CC to complete all my prereqs. I have not had any problems thus far and have been accepted to a few schools.
Call the school you are interested in and ask.

I too was an econ major and I am just finishing up my post bacc. I don't think you need to find a "program" per se, you can do jut fine by selecting any 4 year accredited college or university and just taking the basic science classes that you need.
I did this at my state school and saved a lot of money compared to attending an expensive post bacc program. I have had no problems getting interviews and nobody has asked me anything about the way I took my basic science classes. Just plan out how you are going to take the courses and you may have to take some of the courses out of sequence or concurrently and you might have get overrides to do so. My state school really didn't care what I did since I was a continuing education student, and question any of my choices in the order of taking classes (I had to start organic before I finished gen chem).
Just sit down with a course booklet from a couple of schools in the area and see how you might be able to schedule your full complement of pre-dental classes. You can even mix and match schools if you need to. Just get good grade and you'll be fine.
