I am entering my senior year and currently have a 2.94 gpa majoring in chemistry and minoring in Biochem. I am going to take my DAT's this winter break. I don't think I have a shot at making dental school if I apply at the end of the year. So I am interested in doing a post-bacc program. But I am not sure whether my number's qualify for even a post-bacc. The Temple program interests me. If by the end of this 1st semester I get my GPA up to a 3.1, then maybe a 3.2 the next semester. Would that be competitive for a post-bacc program? I just need some help in what direction I should go.

imo, I think you'll be fine applying to post-baccs (especially Temple's). The current director of Temple's program was in-charge of UPenn's post-bacc program when I applied back in '08. I had an undergrad GPA right around yours and was nervous as well as to whether I'd be accepted. If you apply, I don't know their admissions process, but just be heartfelt in your essays and reason why you want to go into dentistry. But really, you should be fine.

Best wishes this school year!
