What's some determining factors for choosing master/post bacc programs? (Besides location and cost). Would you choose one over the other based on mandatory attendance, which program been around the longest or get masters over a certificate(postbacc).
Thanks for replying. Its wlu and wvsom bridge program, lecom post bacc and lmu biomedical professions masters. Are you asking for MD or DO linkage SMP?
It all depends on your gpa and mcat as well if you get into SMP program but post-bacc is different.

Enough to get accepted to those but I have to retake my mcat...How is your stats? gpa and mcat?

It’s hard to give accurate advice when you’re being vague about information. I understand if you’re being protective but if you want us to give you a meaningful direction please give us a little more info (e.g. stats, clinical extracurriculars, state of residency). Whatever you feel comfortable with
I agree with ppushpak, no one can accurately advise you without understanding your unique situation. By retaking the MCAT, does that mean going from a 505 to a 515?Non traditional, from Florida, 3.0-3.2 GPA, have to retake mcat, good extracurriculars, volunteer in hospital, etc. I'm now wondering if I should go to lecom post bacc over the new wvsom master bridge. Either way I am planning to take the mcat soon
Thanks for your reply. Rather than me write out my whole life story my post doesn't require that all (its really long, lol)..I agree with ppushpak, no one can accurately advise you without understanding your unique situation. By retaking the MCAT, does that mean going from a 505 to a 515?
And on that note, what race/ethnic group do you represent? Are you active military personnel or a veteran? Are you applying disadvantaged? Have you suffered financial hardship or any other adverse events for a significant period of your life? Would you describe yourself as a non-trad with significant ECs and stellar research experience? And from there, the list goes on and on...
Not everyone’s path to medicine is the same. And not every “low stats” applicant is encouraged to not apply to DO or MDs, but rather a post-bacc.
LECOM’s postbacc is honestly more known, and the medical school itself is EXCELLENT. Some people will still **** on it (as this is an MD’s world), but LECOM’s matchlist is almost as impressive as PCOMsThanks for your reply. My post was more generalized. I'm going D.O so it's not about whether I should go the physician route... I was accepted into 3 programs: lmu master program, wlu(wvsom bridge) masters and Lecom post bacc program. How would one decide which is best for them? Hopefully that helps with answering my original post. Thanks for all insight.
I've heard this but I've also heard it's hard to get rotations. Well, it puts you in a more uncomfortable and more stress added place. You may have to travel more with them across the country. I have a family so I opt out for that...LECOM’s postbacc is honestly more known, and the medical school itself is EXCELLENT.
