I am currently a senior undergraduate psychology student looking to find a 1-2 year post-bacc research position, so I can gain experience for Clinical Psychology PhD applications. Does anyone have any advice on finding a position or know of any opportunities right now?

What are your specific research interests and desired places you’d want to live? That’ll help narrow the search a bit.

I’d also prepare for a 2 year post-bacc minimum, which seems to be the norm more and more for folks going in this direction. Most paid positions want to hire an RA for two years minimum because it can be quite disruptive to larger studies if RAs are leaving after a year.

If you live near a large research hospital, university, or medical school, those could be good places to check for post-bacc opportunities. Most will be in psychology, psychiatry, neurology, or neuroscience departments. You're looking for labs hiring research assistants or taking volunteers (which can lead to research assistant positions).

Here's my lil collection of postbacc research job resources 🙂
