Let me start off by saying this is not for me, but I need this information for a friend of mine. She currently has a 3.23 overall GPA and a 3.12 science GPA with a 19 DAT. I told her she probably does not have a chance getting in this cycle with the DAT score that she has, but should apply anyway. I told her to take grad school classes during the spring semester and apply again. My question is how many classes should she take and would one semester suffice? She wants to apply in May next year, so she will only have one semester of grad school classes under her belt.

I have found myself in a similar situation, however my sGPA is right at a 3.0 while my overall is a 3.4 and I haven't taken the DAT. I am graduating this Fall.

I decided that I would apply to a non-thesis Master's degree ( I chose Microbio). The degree is 30 credits and should take up this coming Spring and next Fall and Spring as well. Rather than waste a whole year doing nothing after I graduate this seems to be the best option for me. Maybe your friend should look into degree programs like this. It is all grad science credits so even if they don't get in this time, they stand a better chance the next cycle
