Must be that time of year when everyone is making decisions slash unfortunately having decisions being made for them... but the thread has been relatively quiet lately.

I don't know about everyone else but I still have apps left to hear from and the anticipation is nerve wracking.

Thought you settled on Tufts Klmnop

Anyway I guess it's the same all around. I'm pretty much set on where I think I will be going this Fall as far as programs but I will admit that at the beginning, I imagined myself having a few more options than I have now. Good luck to everyone else.

90% settled, havent heard back from everyone yet... though the longer it takes the higher the probability

Not necessarily. I was accepted to one formal program but still have an interview at another next month. Another school I'm waiting to hear from doesn't decide until May 15th and another school just sent me an email today saying that they will let students know "within 3 weeks of the published deadline" which is June 30th!?!?!? Who can wait until late July to decide? I imagine they lose a ton of students since most will have decided by then.

Forreal. The problem is alot of these programs require a deposit to hold your seat after they send out the decision and they only give you 2 weeks or so to send it. Normally this isn't that much of an issue but unless you were accepted into your first choice, you (me for all essential purposes 🙁) are forced to send in at least 1 deposit to "cover all bases". Unfortunately my last choice was the first to accept me with a lag period of like a month or two before my next one came and I basically forfeited 500 dollars.

I sent out apps recently to Columbia, Harvard Extension, and NYU. I'm graduating this May from Rutgers and I'm really not sure at all if I will get in to the programs considering my GPA (3.47 GPA, 3.71 Economics Major), lack of medical exposure (a short EMT stint back in H.S.), and relative lateness of my applications. Blah.

I applied to Columbia with a GPA not that much better than yours and no volunteer experience, but was still accepted. From what I understand HES is easier to get into, but is not as structured.

Yeah this is what I meant. Not necessarily that I wouldn't get in eventually, but I would really like to have a definite decision sooner, rather than August 10th.... thus with each day that passes I am more likely to make a definite choice before I hear from everyone.

Yeah deposits are bitches, but you gotta imagine the admissions committees hate it (despite the money) when they hear people sending in the deposit and then forfeiting, as they hounded over the apps for some time and had to weed kids out systematically... only to have to ask later with the hope they didn't choose somewhere else in the meantime

i'm really not sympathizing with adcoms, but you gotta believe some schools end up getting a class full of the 25-50 percentile applicants, because the top 50 percent used it as a safety and declined
