Post Bacc vs. Masters

i think it depends on where you live. texas, for example, prefers post-bacc. while other states recognize a masters in biomedical science as improvement. it also depends on your situation, and if you have already taken your prerecs

Some people on here will tell you to go the post-bac route, while others will claim that a masters is the way. The best advice I can give you is to seek out the schools you would like to attend and ask them. Some of them care one over the other, some could care less. If it doesn't matter to the school you want to attend, then go with the cheaper, quicker, more convenient route. It partially depends on if you have already taken the pre-reqs, and how many sci. classes you have already taken. I've seen people gain entrance into dental school via both pathways.
i live in CA, i got a 20 TS/ 20 AA on the DAT but my GPA is 2.87. As far as getting into schools, I really dont care, I just want in.. I mean I dont want to invest a year and have it lead me know where.. thats why I was asking.

I did this a few years back so consider the source, but when I was going through it I thought of it this way:
A post-bac program will directly affect your undergrad GPA. When an adcom sees 2.87 it might immediately result in your app finding the round file. However, if you can pull that up to a 3.0 you might be given a second look.
A masters is generally recognized as easier in the grading department. A masters 4.0 may not offset a sub-3.0 gpa. However, if you are able to get a research project/publication out of the grad work this may be seen as a plus.
If you live in CA and want to stay in CA I would recommend contacting the schools directly and asking what they would prefer to see. Be honest, explain your concerns, and ask for advice. They should be happy to give it.
