post december interviews

I'm a bit confused about the post december interview process. I tried looking it up on SDN, but I'm not entirely sure about it. can post december interviews run all the way before school starts in september? I ask because I have a false sense of security right now having received 3 interviews, which I will be going to pretty soon. The thing is I am going on a Euro trip starting January, which I will cancel if I don't get any decisions December 2, but I was really hoping that possible post december interviews would come before january, but there is no real end date right? Thank you.

End date depends on the school, some will finish before the end of this year while some continue into January, February, March and possibly April (it seems UCLA interviewed for wait list spots until 5/12 last cycle though pretty much everywhere else will finish way before this). Take a look at last year's threads to get an idea.
