"Both the admissions panel and I very much enjoyed meeting you. Very best wishes for the upcoming Match!"
Does this mean "we like you, but no, thank you"? or just a generic response or we will rank you, but not high enough? I wrote to the PD telling them they are my #1 one week ago and got the reply this morning.

Perhaps, but how can anyone know? Could go either way. I don't think programs are allowed to be any more specific than the letter you received.

I would just rank programs in the order of your own preference. In the order of where you'd like to go the most - no matter what feedback you got from a program (unless it was really bad). I really don't think there is any better strategy to ranking, or any other way to increase your odds. Heck we only have 1 week left and then we just sit back and hope for the best 🙂

post-interview coms mean nothing. Rank the programs based on your TRUE preference...yoga, massage, meditation...eventually you'll get your match results.

Programs can tell you whatever they want -- true or not -- including more explicitly stating they ranked you #1. I am of the belief that program directors, on the whole, wouldn't intentionally deceive applicants. So I think you can take their reply at face value -- the program enjoyed meeting you. Beyond that, NO ONE can or should read more into their message. As others have said, you should rank programs based on your preference of them, which shouldn't be influenced by such emails from them.

Thanks for the reply. It is a program close to home and i really like the vibe there. i kept in touch with the program director and chief resident after the interview and they are always very nice. I will rank the program number #1 not matter what. Now what i can do is relax, chill and pray for the best.
good luck to everyone!

They thought that you were a "solid second-stringer" and want you to rank them so that if they don't get the matches from their top ten (who basically get in everywhere) then they can settle for you and not hold their noses...don't mean to be harsh, but I've participated in the selection process....
