1. Post interview: Do you recommend sending thank you letters and if yes to whom i.e pd and chief only or interviewers as well? Via email or regular mail? Also what kind of things should you say in the card?

2. If interested in a program what do you recommend post interview to let them know and to increase your chances of matching there? For example having someone call on your behalf, sending the program director an email.

Thanks

Thank you email/letter should be sent to at least the PD after interview. This gesture shows your continued interest. I prefer emails, but the medium doesn't matter. If you choose email you should cc the PC.

Say thanks for the day. Make a point or two regarding the highlights of their program. It is fine to tell your #1 that they are your #1 AFTER you've completed all of your interviews.

Only have someone contact your top 2 choices.

Always do send a separate thank you note to PC, rather than just cc

While we appreciate the direct thank you, for sure, PC's should be copied on emails in order to ensure they get filed with the rest of your submission.

haha true...I sent paper thank you notes for residency, but I think I'll stick to saving a tree and money this time around.

I have only one interview so far , I have scheduled it very early ( first day of ivs) is it bad idea putting my interview on the first day , I am not sure.
is there pre match in cardiology? which programs give prematch?

I was wondering this as well. One place I interviewed at had 9 seperate people interview me. Is it ok if I just send an e-mail to the PC and/or Chief of cardiology ? Or have you guys been sending e-mails/letters to everyone?

Im guessing thats the interview at Cinncinnati? Man, thats a lot of thank you emails to write, LOL. It's up to you. Yea, I'd probably just write to a couple of the big people like Chief and Fellowship Director.
