I haven't seen any talk here on the osteo boards of post-interview rejections? Tons of posts on the allo boards....Are people too embarassed? Is it just too early in the process yet?
I am just curious. I don't have any DO PIRs yet (keeping fingers crossed) but will proudly own my PIR from VCU. (He told me I was too old and that I should be volunteering full-time......no mention of who was going to pay my bills and buy my groceries while I volunteered......🙄)

3 interviews so far. 2 acceptances and one flat out rejection after an interview at WesternU. Post Interview rejections suck!

He told me I was too old

I'm pretty sure that is discriminatory. And I'm pretty sure if the school receives any federal money that they cannot have a discriminatory policy like that or else they're in violation of federal law.

But hey, I'm just overly sensitive being an older applicant myself. Although, I don't know, maybe you're retirement age, and then I could sort of see his point. But it still violates the law.

This is just an insane thing to say. I'm not even sure what the utility of this would be for you.

In fact, given they knew your age and volunteering experience before inviting you, I'm not sure why even invite you if it was some sort of deal breaker.

Medical school interviews are really subject, and it tends to boil down to whether they like you or not.

It is absolutely outrageous that we are expected to tolerate this kind of bull****.

Edit: But I know I would politely sit and take it if an interviewer wanted to know just how I planned on balancing work and family and other sexist crap. There's no winning. ugh

I know, right? But it's OK. I don't think it's the overwhelming attitude of the school......just that particular interviewer. Just the luck of the draw who you get to interview you on any given day. And I am cool with it anyway, b/c really I think DO is a better fit for me.

I am just curious as to why the DO forums don't have any posts like this. Sure, post-interview rejection is a bummer, but it happens to most everyone at least once, misery loves company, and it gives people a good idea of what certain schools are looking for, not looking for.......right?

5 interviews - 1 waitlist, 1 post-interview rejection (Tu-NV), waiting on one, 2 more to attend.

Well shoot, I didn't think that anyone would be interested. Anyhow, I have had two interviews and one rejection so far. Still waiting on the results of the second interview but I'm not going to stand on one foot and hold my breath. 🙄

Thansk for the info. Can you share what schools? Since we are all living vicariously through the fate of each other on here......😉
