Post-interview with Metrohealth (Case western)

I had an interview at Metrohealth in October. At the end of interview, PD asked me to contact him if I am still considering them in late December. I made calls without reaching him and sent two emails with no response. It is the program of my choice. Any comments or anyone interviewed there?

i did not interview at this particular institution, however i would not make too much out of not hearing from them. since theyre your #1, you should absolutely inform them of it. pd responses are highly variable. some pds respond to everyone, some to noone, some only to highly rated candidates. and if they do respond, the only 2 responses with any real weight are: 1) you are ranked to match, and 2) not likely. getting either of these responses is pretty rare.

now, having already emailed the pd that theyre your #1, one thing to consider is having one of your pathology letter writers calling the program on your behalf.

out of curiosity, are you doing you schooling in the northeast ohio area?

some people aren't big emailers. 2 things to consider are continuing to call and try to speak to him/her live, or call or email the program coordinator to find out how and when to contact the PD directly. i agree that letting the PD of your #1 know they're your top choice is valuable and plan to do the same in mid-late jan when i figure out which program that is.

Thanks for excellent suggestions. Yes, I am at school in Ohio. And for family and other reasons, Metrohealth becomes my top choice. Would be very grateful to see post from anyone interviewed there.

What did you like about it, out of curiosity? I chose not to interview there because there was a conflict with a more high-ranked program interview. I liked doing research at Metro, but did not have any contact with the pathology dept.

What did you think about the program? Training in AP and CP? Strengths/weaknesses?

I like research in there. The chairman's research field interests me very much. Could anyone who has interviewed there post your thoughts?

I recall someone in here posted interview with metrohealth. Would you please post your impression with the program? And do you have any contact with the program after interview? Very appreciated.
