Is it good protocol to email the school a thank you post-interview? I have always have done this for job interviews and had this impact the interviewer positively. Is this good practice for optometry school interviews??

Yes, although most applicants don't send one (and schools don't expect you to either), I worked at the admissions office and just a small thank you card is always appreciated.

I actually wrote out thank you cards for my interviewers at my top school. I got accepted, so I don't think it was a bad thing!
