Congrats to the 4th years that have recently matched!

Has anyone else been receiving a lot of post match surveys? Does anyone know if these go out to all interviewed applicants or only those ranked highly? Just curious what it all means.

Very program dependent as to who they send the surveys. They are just looking for info to better their program in the future.

Yeah I know why they send the survey. I was more curious if this is typical sent to highly ranked candidates so I could feel special haha

I've gotten 4 of them so far as well. I don't know the answer to your question though. I thought they only sent them to those they ranked somewhat high, but someone on one of the ERAS threads said he got one from a program he ranked high and ended up not matching to. Shrug.

I've gotten two: one from a program I ranked below the program I matched at (so I have no idea where I fell on their match list), and one from a program I ranked above where I matched (so obviously I was lower on their rank list). The rest have been radio silent. However, I did have a few programs were I filled out surveys at the end of the interview day, which might take the place of a post-match survey at their institution.

Yup it is very program dependent.

At my program we send it to every ranked applicant. If we only sent it to the applicants we "missed" (ie the applicants we didn't get who were ranked higher than the last applicant we did get) - we would only be sending out a very small number of surveys (/subtle brag).

We send the surveys to everyone because we want to get the most broad sample of what applicants like and dislike about our program. Feedback from the surveys is actually taken pretty seriously and we try to address any "fixable" issues (ie you can't fix geography which can be an issue for some programs and/or people)
