I had my interview in Chicago on Saturday for RCSI. I was interviewed by the dean and two professors. The interview seemed to have gone well. I was wondering if anyone else went and wanted to share their experience.

Also, i spoke with Peter Nealon, of ABP, in person. He said UCD and UCC will definitely be accepting students for their four year GEP programs this year. So if you applied there with a bachelors degree that is good news. He also said they will be contacting applicants with decisions in two or three weeks.

Congrats on the interview!

I was just wondering about how many other people were interviewing that day?

What kind of questions did they ask you (I mean, did they ask you what you thought of the Ireland HealthCare system?).

For the UCC and UCD, you meant that people with B.Sc should apply for 2008 admission right?

Sorry for all the questions, but I still haven't heard anything and I'm getting nervous.

They asked me what I thought about the problems facing the American healthcare system, how my friends would describe me, about my college, and whether I could handle the stresses of medical school.

There were about 10 to 15 people interviewing that day. Also, I meant that if you applied through ABP and expect to have your undergraduate degree finished by Fall 08, you were automatically applied to the four year programs at UCC and UCD.

Are you sure those schools have 4 year programs? That would be fantastic but I was under the impression that only RCSI had a 4year and the others were 5-6.

rugbymd,
I know these schools are starting their four year programs this year because Peter Nealon from ABP was told this information by the schools. He relayed the information to me after my interview. Its a completely new development.

SWEEEEEEEEEEET. Just getting super anxious now😀

Did Peter say anything about the tuition for the 4 year program? I am very glad to hear that UCC will be accepting people into their 4 year program; I only wish it had been in place when we all applied. However, all of us are very curious about how much it will cost, and how many North American students they will accept into it. The ethnic mix in your class will be so much different from ours, since the Malaysians and Kuwaitis and Norwegians and Omanis and people from Singapore and all will still be in the 5 year program, but the chance to get out in 4 years is a great opportunity. Do let us know how it all works out.
Cheers,
M
