Having taken my test today, I had some random qs for those who've finished. First, how much variation in difficulty did you guys feel there was b/w sections? My test went weirdly because I felt pretty good about my first 5 sections (~3-5 guesses/section which is good for me I guess) and then my last 2 ate me alive--and I'm talking like 10-15 questions that were just me panicking and guessing because I'd never seen the info.

My background is that I've studied World, FA, and Goljan pretty thoroughly and ended up with a 240 on my last NBME before the real thing which I was happy with. Today's test reflected my strategy which meant I either really really knew the answer because it was in FA or I had honestly never seen a term/concept before. I feel like my understanding of FA is alright--these questions were just completely NEW material. Neuro was especially frustrating because it should be a super strong subject for me (>90% on qbank 1st run..) but I didn't get lesion/CT/whatever questions--I felt like mine were just complete oddball qs that we didn't even talk about in class. I know a lot of people come out of the test feeling like it was fair, but I felt like there was so much unseen material on mine compared to NBMEs and qbank.

Anyways, enough venting. Here are my questions in short.
1. How much did you feel like your sections varied in difficulty?
2. How many questions were truly guesses (not just educated guesses)? - I know this answer's going to vary, but I'm just curious because my 10 felt like a GIANT number. I was feeling so much better before the last 2 sections..aargh.

3. I don't know if this info is out there..but how much does the curve vary b/w tests? I got a ton of repro anatomy questions (folks who haven't taken it yet--study these by the way despite the unpleasantness to avoid being screwed on these like me!) I'm trying to be unbiased, but I really do feel like I had a harder test than some! Just wondering if ppl with the notorious repro anat heavy tests saw a nice a curve or not..

4. I can't figure out when scores come out. I think my brain's fried. Can anyone clarify?

Ok, this is the officially the longest post of venting I've ever written. At least I'm done. Thanks to anyone who's patient enough to read all this crap, even if you don't respond!

I havn't taken it so I cannot comment on the rest but everyone keeps talking about the dreaded repro anatomy...is it muscles, arteries, nerves? I'm really confused on how much detail to study.

Anyways, from what I have read about other peoples experiences I think you are just fine and its normal to feel the way you do. Also you should expect your score back in 3 weeks like normal. Good luck and congrats on being done!

I want to add some questions. First, any idea how they decide the experimental questions and any way to predict which these are? I keep freaking out that they'll end up throwing away all the ones I got right and keeping my wrongs.. Also, do the NBMEs contain experimental questions? I felt like I saw so much more new information on the real test than NBMEs
