I am currently a third-year undergrad, completed all of my med school prerequisites, and debating on if I should do a post-bacc or Special Master's Program. I am aiming to get into an MD program eventually.

Overall GPA: 3.39
BCPM GPA: 3.37
Other GPA: 3.449

I am hoping to get to at least a 3.5 overall by the time I graduate. Would a post-bacc or SMP be best, since my GPA isn't too well off? I have been having trouble determining which since some people say Post-Bacc to raise gpa but others also say SMP if all science requirements are complete but GPA isn't that good. Also, for both programs, when is it appropriate to apply for medical school? After or before completing the Post-Bacc/SMP? I have not taken my MCAT yet and am not sure when to, depending on if I should do a Post-Bacc or SMP. If SMP, then I will take the MCAT the summer before my senior year. If Post-Bacc, potentially will take it during my Post-Bacc.

Im not too far off from your GPA and my understanding from reading around this forum, reddit, etc is that time wise, the best move is an SMP.

I have a negative trend though so this has pushed me toward an SMP even more so.
