Postpone App for Summer grades?

Hi,

My sci gpa going into the summer/app cycle is about a 2.9 - after some summer classes, where I'm confident I can get an A and have a grade replacement for a class (if grade replacements can happen for classes taken at different universities) I would have about a 3.1 science. Is it worth it to hold the application until the end of August to have those grades in, or should I ship it out as soon as possible?

Ship it out as soon as possible and update them with the new grades. Do not waste any time in your app esp. for 2 or 3 classes...

I agree. Everything can be updated at a later point.

Hmmm, but I dunno - heres the thing, the class I want to retake actually ends July 13th, not the end of August. This isn't as late as I originally thought... also, an A in Organic would look a lot better than a C-, and the resulting boost could help me get through that "initial glance"....

Class ends July 13th + 1 week for final grades to be turned in + one more week for your transcript to officially be updated + 3 or more weeks for aacom to update...still puts you in the middle of august. At VERY least, I would submit the AACOM application early, and only not send that transcript. The day your updated transcript is out, I would next day mail it to aacom.

Personally, I would still submit the application early (as in early to mid June), and then send an update of your transcript when you get it to aacom. By the time you get your secondaries, you will already have updated your grade with aacom and can send a copy of your new transcript along with the secondaries. The schools will still be evaluating you based upon your most recent grade--you are just cutting down the "wait time" by submitting early.

Regardless, do whatever makes most sense to you. I just reccomend that people apply early because I know of people with almost identical stats to mine who applied just a few months later and dind't get interview until dec/jan (instead of sept/oct) and are now getting waitlists rather than the acceptances that I got.
