Hi guys,

I am a Biology major, heading into my third year. I am interested in graduating with Honors. I recently made this decision. I spoke to my advisor and she said it was not too late to still complete the required honors classes, and graduate on time.

All the classes I will be taking in 3rd year will have the title "completed with honors" next to them, but the courses in first two years will not. I dont want to give the Med schools the wrong impression that I was not able to get "completed with honors" in my first two years, because I was not good enough or something... Its just because I didnt register for the Honors sections as I was not interested in Honors at that time... Do you think this will be confusing for Med schools? Is this something to watch out for?

What do you guys think?

Shouldn't be a problem, and definitely not one that can't be explained during interviews. I doubt it will be mentioned, but if it is, just write it off as personal growth and maturation throughout your undergrad years.

Nah, don't worry about it. But if you really want to get to med school, honors won't get you very far. Honors is only useful for people going into research. Now if that's your plan B, then go for it.

It doesn't really make a difference. What matters is the GPA.

It's not going to matter. An official transcript comes with a fairly exhaustive list of various tags and definitions. They'll get an accurate picture of what "completed with honors" means, no worries.
