I wanted to know where can I take practice DAT exams?

What are the costs?

How effective are they?

How close are they to the real thing?

Hello Sierra, I apologize for the rudeness of the other responses. I understand where you are coming from. It is very confusing when you are new and have no guidance. For practice exams you can purchase the Top score Pro cd for about $70 bucks I believe and also the Achiever. Not sure how much that is. Also You can get the Kaplan books which have alot of questions, not sure how much but you can fish one from a friend or school mate that took the DAT already. The topscore CD and achiever are simulations of the real thing so your scores are "generally" representational of what you will get on the real thing. Please read through other posts to brief yourself on topics before asking more questions. I am certain all your questions have been addressed at some point on here. Good luck.

P.S bigstix, wouldnt it have been easier to post a link of the forum where he/she could go read the information?

that is the link with a "dat practice exam" typed in the box i have highlighted on the above pic. that should be enough.

i did not have a bad experience when i was new on here. i've always had the sense to do a search before i had a question about something in regards to dental school. that is how i came across this site - via google. and besides, you know damn well if the OP continued to post simple, redundant, questions like these, then someone else woule prob give it to them WAYYY more than i did. i simply sugested that they do a search next time before they post - period. you people are too cynical.

so what do you say to all the people that post, "i made TS 27 and GPA=3.8, will i get in?", or people that post their scores, schools accepted, etc in their signature.

i for one put those videos on there, not to be shovenists, but to simply allow people to see what i have done and accomplished in my life and that i am proud of for those that MAY have a curiosity or could possibly relate. if YOU don't, i really don't care. some people post DAT scores and gpa's and what have ya because they are either proud of them, nervous about them, or whatever - but i do not. i don't want to be defined by a set of numbers. if you would like to chat about this or would like some insight on me as a person, feel free to PM, but SDN is no place to carry on a petty tiff such as this one. i'm a really nice guy, and everyone around me can attest to that. i'm sorry you took my signature to a "personal" level on your part. have a good one!!

Wow!! You're a *****!! and tacky and uncuth!! Let's face it, you're envious!! First step is realizing that your're an ugly person, and then, ......well.... let's face it... .. you can't fix ugly!!

Let me conclude what type of person you are based on your reply above, because let's face it, that's what you did with bigstix videos!! An insipid idividual who is so frightned to accept (because you have already realized it) that your *** will always be passed over, wether it was while teams were being picked for a game in grade school, or denied an acceptance to dental school, over a person like bigstix. You're bland, and you know it, and you have to attack anyone with the similar personality characteristics as bigstix. And what's even better😀, you know that he and anyone else who shares his same type of personality, would spank your *** during an interview if you're sitting next to him. It has probably already happened!! !! Don't hate!! You just don't bring anything to the table when it comes to personality. You're insecure, ignorant, and blind.... and the interviewers see that!! 🙂 and if you have already been accepted, the interviewers were probably drunk (not before the interview, but started sipping while listening to you because you're so interesting😉), and I feel sorry for your patients already!!

As for the original thread, hey dude, search the website like bigstix said, before you ask such a common question, b/c you will get ripped by someone else!! If the information is already on here somewhere, why not find out the answer immediately!! UNBELIEVABLE!! oh wait!!! you're lazy and don't want to do a search!! you just want someone to tell you the answer so you bypass a little work!! Hey here's a thought, if someone SHOWS you and TEACHES you how to work the system, YOU WILL NEVER BE LOST and you'll be self sustaining!! (maybe an atribute you would want to develop before you open up your own practice)!! But if they just feed you the answer, AHEM, LIKE KEMA, ...... buh bye!! don't even apply to dental school, because nobody is going to carry your lazy *** through dental school!! I'm not saying don't help a fellow applicant, but I wouldn't want to just know an answer to a question, explaining the concept would carry me further!!
