I need some advice. I'm taking the MCAT without finishing all of the AAMC practice material. Terrible, I know. I was thinking on doing some practice the day before to get as much AAMC stuff done before the actual test... I wouldn't do a FL the day before-- that'd be awful. But some passages from the question packs and the section bank, here and there, based on what I feel I need more practice on. I'm also thinking about wrapping up early in the day (3pm ish), and relaxing for the rest of the afternoon. What do y'all think?

Hey there. I am taking my test on Saturday so I can't speak for the real thing yet. However, I've noticed that if I study hard the day before a practice exam I feel tired and do worse than when I take the day off prior. I'd take a relaxed day, the payoff of studying a day before the exam is small compared to being rested and clear minded.

Personally, I think confidence is a huge factor. If I did new material the day before and got a bunch wrong, it'd probably mess with my head.
I used the day before to go through some old questions and explanations I had gotten wrong a few times, but not much else.
Good luck!!

If you're going to do anything the day before the MCAT, besides last minute organization and light review, it should be the AAMC materials. Do not look at anything else but that, because it will give you the most realistic feel of what to expect. The worst thing you could possibly do is look at FLs that are unrealistic or have errors in them, so make it an AAMC or nothing day.

Yeah! With the limited time I have left, I was planning on focusing on AAMC stuff only. Thanks!

I took an AAMC FL the night before the test and it was my highest score. I went to bed and took the real thing the next morning. At the end of it all, I was extremely happy with my score. I think the FL boosted my confidence.

It really comes down to what works for you. None of us can really help you. Just know yourself and go with it. Good luck!

My personal experience - studying the day before an exam can be beneficial. As long as you can stay calm every time you come across something you're not familiar with. I unfortunately could not and started realizing how much I still didn't have down perfectly and panicked. This got me worked up so much that I had to just put the books away and tell myself that I have done the best I could and attempted to relax for the rest of the day.
Can I ask you how did it in the end?

Not sure I understand the question

Sorry! How did it *go* in the end? How did it end up going even though you stopped doing practice problems and recognized that you had done the best you could?

I'm taking the test saturday and feel like I am at the tip top of my studying/ This whole week I kind just relaxed, its been great! I feel so much more relaxed and confident now that im not studying for hours on end. I really think mindset has a lot to do with this test, so relax my friend!
