so i've just started studying for the step 1 and i came across some questions books like NMS and Appleton & Lange... and by just reading through some of those questions i felt that the questions were just too easy compared to UW and kaplan. or is it that UW and kaplan are hard? i heard that UW is the most similar to the actual exam though.

anybody else feel this way?

Kaplan tests minutiae and I dumped it before I even go to like 10% of the questions. I'd rather waste money than time. UWorld is the way to go, and once you do a bunch of blocks of random and timed questions that incorporate all the organ systems and all the disciplines, the difficulty will likely go up. Don't fret.

UWorld was the single review source that I would say did the most to prepare me. Great questions. Step 1 was still harder, though.

The more you study, the easier all questions get. Just make sure to do questions on high yield info.

😱

Judging from many posts on this forum, the consensus seemed to be that the Step 1 was a tad bit easier than UW.

I guess it varies from test to test...

i agree that the kaplan books/questions test on minutiae.. maybe thats why its a bit harder. i guess UW is the way to go. on that note, are there any other sources of questions similar to UW? i've gone through and understood the UW questions, and i need more. i even got a bootlegged screenshot database online and gone through that and need more. what question book should i invest in next?
