There were too many spelling mistakes

BTW,I think for the first Q BH3 will be added in syn fashion as well, although the peroxide is present!!😕

1. Which of the following add in a syn fashion?
a. 1)OsO4 ; 2)NaHSO3 - should add -OHs syn
b. 1) Br2; 2) H20 - Anti addition across double bond
c. 1) BH3, peroxides, NaOH - Anti-markovnikov addition of -OH
d. 1) H2SO4 - um really not sure what this would add by itself??
e. 1) NaCl, H20 - Again not really sure what this would add

2. In an endothermic reaction, what would shift the products right 3moles-->5 moles
a. Increase temperature - heat is a reactant
b. Decrase temperature - test taking strat would eliminate choices C and D
c. Decrease Product
d. Increase activation energy

3. What of the following increase glucose levels?
a. Insulin - decreases blood glucose
b. Glucocorticoids - increases it.. cheat: gluconeogenesis
c. Calcitonin - decreases osteoclast activity, decrease in Blood [Ca2+]
d. Epinephrine - hmmm this might?! i kinda forgot what this does in relation to blood glucose =[ .. it increases heart rate i would assume, maybe increase in BP, not sure about glucose levels.. probably doesn't affect it
e. Two of the above (what two, if so)

4. Gastrulation forms the...
a. Ectoderm
b. Endoderm
c. Mesodorm
d. a,b, and c
e. none of the above

5. B lymphocytes
a. cytotoxic cells
b. neonatal hemoglobin
c. endocytosis
d. plasma cells - produces antibodies, i think plasma cells are a type of B lymphocytes.. not positive
e. suppressor cells.

6. Tripsin is produce in _______ and function ________.
a. Interestinal glands; hydrolyzes poptide bondes
b. pancreas; reduces maltose
c. medula; hydrolyses chime - not sure why you'd want to hydrolyze that
d. castric glands; converse trypsinogen to trypson
e. pancreas; hydrolyses peptide bonds - seems right, although A seems reasonable as well... good question to test what organ synthesizes what enzyme

It's a start. Tell me what you think

Those were my thoughts as I was going through the test, After a brief check of my notes, I think my answers are correct, please correct me if I am wrong! Thanks for the quiz 🙂

edit: oh wow, yea the BH3 does add syn with OH and decreasing the product obviously would shift the reaction to the right

1. Which of the following add in a syn fashion?
a. 1)OsO4 ; 2)NaHSO3 (is this syn though?? b/c I thought the OsO4 cleaves (like a ring system) and results in 2 C=O as each end??
b. 1) Br2; 2) H20
c. 1) BH3, peroxides, NaOH
d. 1) H2SO4
e. 1) NaCl, H20

2. In an endothermic reaction, what would shift the products right 3moles-->5 moles
a. Increase temperature
b. Decrase temperature
c. Decrease Product
d. Increase activation energy (would make it faster from left to right......but choice C seems more able to shift to the right)

3. What of the following increase glucose levels?
a. Insulin (sucks it out of blood)
b. Glucocorticoids
c. Calcitonin (tones down blood Calcium...by stopping bone resorption)
d. Epinephrine
e. Two of the above (what two, if so)

4. Gastrulation forms the...
a. Ectoderm

Nice mix of questions man! I hope I did better.

I noticed for the "which will shift to the right" question......the rxn equation is 3mols--->5mols, and some of you guys put "increase temp" to shift to the right. Can you explain your reasoning behind this......b/c there is no heat shown in the rxn equation, so how can you assume heat?? I thought that by decreasing products will obviously shift it right.

The Q specifically mentioned ENDOTHERMIC.So when you have endo the tem is always on reactant side:

heat+reactant --> product

So when we add more heat the reactant becomes so HOT that wants to run away and go to product side!
Destroyer explaine this pretty well.

DRHOYA, you are confusing OsO4 with Ozonolysis by O3. it is O3 that cleaves the double bond to 2 x C=O . OsO4 is used for syn hydroxylation which will result in a syn glycol [double alcohol].
KMnO4 and HCrO4 can do the same thing as OsO4 does.

OMG I feel like an idiot for not seeing that!! Wow. Now you see what my biggest testing flaw is! Man, I need to slow down. Sometimes I finish the PAT practices with 20min time left.

Don't worry about it,I'm the same.I made these type of mistakes many times and now it takes more time for me to read the Q,b/c I know for fact I've missed something.

GUYS, INcreasing the temperature is different from adding heat. You can always increase the temperature by increasing the pressure, without adding heat. Increasing the temperature would only increase the speed of the reaction in both directions letting us reach the EQuilibrium faster.
By the way, decreasing the product would also shift the reaction to the right.
C is correct, or if you don't agree what I said, this question has two correct answers. I will stick with C.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

From 3moles of reactants (Left)--> 5 moles of products(Right)
If you want the rxn shifts to the right , u should increase the reactants ( more reactants , more products)
For this question , i think a is correct , increasing the temperature does not 100 % mean increasing the heat ; however, this is the best answer choice for this question .
