Hey well I am about to have my real exam in a week. I took a practice pcat exam and I am worried cause this is the score I got, and I have been studying. I attribute a lot to the time, which is hard for me. But here it is, can you please give me your advice based on what I am showing you.

Verbal Ability: 70%
Biology: 43%
Chemistry: 58%
Reading Comprehension: 75%
Quantitative Ability: 50%

Obviously I have a lot of work to do. I just want to know what you think I would have gotten on the actual pcat with these subscores.

How do I study especially the quantative section which I find to be the hardest?

I think BIO I should use Big Book of Kaplan, do you agree?

I would only recommend Kaplan's Bio book to touch upon the subjects that you know that you need improvement on, especially since you only have one week before your exam. In my opinion, your best option is to pick up a Dr. Collins packet somewhere, ASAP, and work on the practice tests for Chemistry, Biology, and Quant.

Your scores should improve greatly if you can work through the practice tests and understand the concepts behind all of the questions. For biology, I think Dr. Collins will certainly take you to a higher level than where you are now, but using Kaplan's to help you out with your other weaknesses will improve your Bio score even further.

So I would concentrate on Dr. Collins if you can get a packet, then use Kaplan's book to polish up your Biology after you've done all the practice tests. Also, see my PM.

Good luck!

Don't waste your time on Kaplan.

Honestly, your scores are greatly improved from your previous attempt. I wouldn't expect any major improvements over the next week, truthfully. However, keep studying, taking practice exams and hope for the best. You should greatly improve your composite score, although I don't know if you're going to get the 90 that you were shooting towards.

Thank you so much for those encouraging words. Yes I have been practicing really hard and I know if I had more than just a week (if I had next years PCAT) ten probably I would be able to make the 90 because I've found a really good way to organize myself now. Yes I'm just doing the subtests and reviewing incorrect answers, hope I do way better on the pcat. Thank you chemguy for all of your help as well as everybody else 🙂
