Ok, so I have my DAT on July 22nd. Basically from now until then I am taking a practice test every day and going over it until test day. The last 3 days I have done this and here are my results, and what test I took:

Day 1:
Topscore Test 1

Bio-19
Gchem-20
Ochem-21
PAT-26
RC-22
QR-25
TS-20
AA-21

Day 2:
ACHIEVER test 1:
Bio-19
GChem-23
Ochem-18
PAT-23
RC-22
QR-22
TS-20
AA-21

NOW!!Day 3:
Kaplan Integration Workshop B for Sciences, CDP for PAT, Kaplan RC workshop A, and Kaplan QR subject test 7(50 questions, only did 40)

Bio-20
Gchem-17
Ochem-17
PAT(CDP)- 26
RC-20
QR-20
TS-18
AA-19

So, most people say achiever is too hard, but I did very well on it(IMO). Topscore was ok as well, but this combination I did today was messed up. I felt like the Gchem and Ochem were crazy!!I did so terrible on them. Usually, I get 19-23 on Gchem, and 18-22 on Ochem on the Kaplan subject tests. This is just bad, two 17's?

So, I am wondering why there is such a huge difference, basically because I thought achiever was harder than kaplan, but I dont know. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!(Im freaking out)

Don't worry too much about it. Focus on the reason behind your mistakes and correct answers. Stupid mistake that you knew, lucky guess that you got right, answer you knew but picked the wrong answer choice by accident, etc. Focusing in on this will help you understand if those 17's are flukes or not (imo , from your other test scores they seem to be flukes) On a personal note, a week before my DAT I took a practice Achiever or TopScore (cant remember which one) but received a 15 on the Orgo section. I buckled down and realized I just got really nervous when it came to the reactions-I went back and reviewed my reactions till I got them down ice cold. Come test day I was able to get a 29. Good luck!

Yeah, I totally agree - often one or two questions correct or incorrect can make a big difference in your scores. Also, I took a Practice test the night before the DAT, and I got like a 17AA, on the actual test I got a 22AA, so everyone's scores vary a lot. If the overall trend of your tests is a decent score, having one bad test doesn't mean very much.

Practice scores tend to dip once in a while.. depending on the test version and from which company. I think u're doing great... achiever scores are pretty high.. Good luck!!!!

And you've got to realize that these practice tests are usually harder than the real thing...because i guess the companies believe that it's better for you to be over prepared than to be under prepared for the real DAT.

If you're worried about your sciences, don't be. Especially for G. Chem and O. Chem, there are only so many questions that the test can ask you before repeating the same topics. Just keep practicing and you'll do well.
