Sorry if this is posted elsewhere- I've looked on APA and APPIC and can't find the information.

Is there a minimum number of hours you need have when applying for internship? I recently saw the match stats from 2015 on APPIC, and it stated that most applicants had around 600 or so hours. I guess I am confused/surprised as we are required to have at least 500 practicum hours per year. This would put me at around 1500 hours when applying for internship, which is is extremely high compared to what I'm seeing. Am I missing something here, or does my program just require a very high rate of hours?

Thanks!

Ah, the APPIC stats are likely only talking about F2F hours. There are different sections of the APPIC application where you list F2F and other support activities.

I thought I was missing something! Thank you!
Are there minimum requirements for any of these hours?

Different sites have different requirements. You can look at the current brochures to see if sites list minimum numbers. I think it really depends on the type of site. I applied to research-heavy VAs and AMCs and the minimum requirements were pretty low (300-500 F2F). This might differ for a counseling center or community mental health site.
