😎 Howdy,

Are there any organizations that Pre DO students can join that is nationwide? One of my friends who is Pre Pharm has someting called the Academy of Student Pharmacists for Pre Pharm students.

Any or all types of organizations you can list would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again SDN'ers!

I am an officer of Alpha Epsilon Delta at UAH. It is a pre-health honor society, i.e. allopathic, osteopathic, pharmacy, vets, etc. Basically everything. I am not familiar with a society for only pre-DO students.

at my undergrad school, there were both pre-MD and pre-DO students in AMSA and Alpha Epsilon Delta. I don't know of a specific "pre-DO" club as such, but as soon as you get in to DO school, you can join SOMA, which is the student division of the AOA 😉

Like other posters, my school just has an AMSA chapter that covers MD and DO. Part of the reason is that a separate club for DO would probably not do as well (since a lot of premeds don't know what it is until right before they apply) and it would require a separate club budget allocation from Student Government.... which is usually trying to reduce costs like these.

Not that I don't think it's a noble idea. I do. I just think there might be some hurdles at first.

Look into AMSA, like others have said
