Hey guys,
I plan on taking a year off to work at UPenn's medical school (dermatopathology) to do research. The PI advised me to look for pre-doctoral research grants, but there some limitations since I wont be currently enrolled in a PhD or MD program.
Could anyone suggest some pre-doctoral or post-bacc research grants that could help fund my research position? The PI will help me with the paperwork as far as project details and objectives. I appreciate any links or applications you could recommend to someone in my position.
My stats are pretty solid- 3.98, potential summa and phi beta kappa, but due to personal health/medical circumstances, i did not take the mcat this past summer but was lucky to have landed a position at UPenn for the 2010-2011 year...so im not really out to do a post-bacc academic program, but am just doing research and hope to qualify for post-bacc grants... I bring this up because if there were really competitive grants/fellowships in mind that you could advise, I think my university (a top 20) advisers would strongly support my application.
Thanks.
