Hi. I'm currently in my 3rd yr undergrad and I'm wondering what part time jobs (paid) would provide good experience for PT. I don't have much medical experiences other than observational hours in an inpatient and outpatient rehab + ortho department, which is why i'm looking to build on that.

Definitely look into the places you’ve observed and see if they’re hiring a physical therapy tech! It’ll help you get a feel of actually working and interacting with patients. I’ve been a tech at an outpatient clinic for 10 months now and it’s provided a much better experience than I had when I would just observe. (Plus you rack up more observation hours while getting paid) I love it!

Look into strength and conditioning internships (one that lets you actually interact with clients and not just observe). It is usually unpaid but the experience will help so much with exercise programming and manipulating set/rep schemes as a PT. Also, if you're interested in outpatient ortho, it will be invaluable in the 'return to sport' phase of rehab, which PT schools don't cover.
