A pre-interview hold DOES NOT EQUAL a rejection! I am living proof:

SUNY Downstate, entering class 2007:

pre-interview hold: 10/21
interview invite: 12/22
interview: 1/16
acceptance: 2/28

Anyone else with proof?

I was put on a preinterview hold at EVMS until I sent in new grades and just interviewed there. Did you send in grades or anything new or did they just take you off hold randomly one day?

It's kind of funny, actually. When they put me on hold, they had asked for my Fall 2006 grades. Before I sent them anything, I got an email invitation for an interview. It was nice that I got the email after coming back from my last final (Biochem), for which I was up all night studying (the test was 8:30AM). So it was just one day out of nowhere. The same exact thing happened to a friend of mine, just about 1 month earlier.

last year i was put on pre-interview hold at suny upstate. then, i was invited for an interview in january, interviewed in february, was waitlisted in march, and was accepted off the waitlist in late may. so, yes, it does happen.

I was taken off pre-interview hold at Loyola and then invited after an update letter and recently accepted 👍

I guess this counts. I was put on a pre-interview hold at Medical College of Wisconsin, but then ended up getting an interview offer the next day, and got accepted a few weeks after my interview.
