When the whole chat room thing was brought back up I thought of the one you set up. Depending on where I am at in my preparation for my FM shelf I may show up. However, I would be there after 10pm as I have bamboo beat downs on Sunday night.

the dermchat is obviously open at all times if anybody wants to chat to pass the time. I personally will be going crazy thinking about match day thursday so I might hop on every now and then to see if anybody wants to chat.

congrats to all who matched. To those who didn't: I'm sorry and that really really sucks but lots of people match the 2nd or 3rd time and they still become dermies (and hardly remember the pain of not matching years later I'm sure!)

I think the big source of anxiety for a lot of us was Monday. As long as we've matched, I really don't mind where it is.

I guess those who selected backup fields still have to fear slipping down to those spots.

I am getting worried now...

If one ranked prelim medicine as their backup specialty, the "Did I match" email notification would be different right? Or am I in for a surprise tomorrow?

This is a good question. Can anybody shed light on this? I am curious...

If you ranked in your primary list an advanced/categorical AND a preliminary/TY (1 year) program and the NRMP email said "Congratulations! You have matched." then you have fully matched. The only way for the email to say "Congratulations! You have matched." and to have actually matched into a prelim/TY would be if you ONLY ranked one year programs.

If you ranked both an advanced program and a 1 year program in the primary list and matched into the one year program only it would say "Congratulations! You have matched to a one-year position." in the email.

The only thing you should be thinking about is where, not if, you matched at this time. Actually you should do whatever you can to sleep so that you can avoid thinking about all this for at least a few hours. Good luck tomorrow on finding out where you will be training.
