Pre-Optometry Internships?

Most places I would say just go in and ask. I would shadow the optometrist first to build up a bit of rapport before you ask if it is a smaller clinic. Don't feel bad if they say no because some clinics really don't need the extra help. If that is the case they may be able to point you to another clinic that is undermanned or that usually takes student workers.
If you are looking at a larger clinic or a corporate place they will probably have you fill out a job application. Don't expect all clinics to post up a position like that, most will count of students to come in and ask.
