So I'm going to school at Texas Tech and I know they have a pre-optometry program, but i haven't been able to get in contact with them and school doesn't start for another couple of weeks. I just wanted to know what the general prerequisite classes were. I'm a history major/chem minor, I hope being a non science won't hurt me. Pretty much have all the chem's done, all the way through molecular biochem. I also have bio 1, anatomy 1, and stats. Do I need calculus with my stats? What else do I need besides bio 2, and physiology? Oh one more question, would my MCAT books be adequate study material for the OAT?

Take a look at the very first post in this forum, it has all the info you need.

Also, check out www.opted.org. 👍 That has all your info for pre-reqs, OAT, etc.

an MCAT book would definitely have all the info you need, but the OAT doesn't go into as much detail, so I'd recommend getting an OAT book.
