Hi everyone, I will try to keep this brief. Currently I am taking courses at a CC. May stay 1 or 2 more semesters. I graduated early from high school, right now I have 13 credits from CC and a 4.0gpa. This upcoming year will be my freshman year. I am done with, ENG101, ENG 102, SPE101 and Statistics.

Fall 2010 (16 credits)
- Mythology
- Bio I w/ lab
- College Algebra
- Psych 101
- Macroeconomics

Spring 2011 (15 credits)
- Pre-Calc
- Anthropology
- Sociology
- Zoology

Fall 2011 (16 credits)
- Chem I w/ lab
- Calc
- Ethics
- "Science as a way of knowing" (applies towards the BA I may or may not get. not sure yet)

Spring 2012 (14 credits)
- Chem II w/ lab
- Physics I w/ lab
- Another random Bio class w/ lab for degree

Summer 2012 (5 credits)
- Bio II w/ lab

Fall 2012 (14 credits)
- Organic Chem I w/ lab
- Physics II w/ lab
- Human Anatomy w/ lab

Spring 2013 (14 credits)
- Organic Chem II w/ lab
- Human Physiology w/ lab
- Microbio

- I am unsure when I would like to transfer to the 4 year university. It will be either after Fall 2010 or after Spring 2011. Anyone think the sooner I transfer the better?
- Does this schedule look okay? Anything sound too hard or too easy for a semester?
- Physics: Should it be calc-based or not? (Schools I plan to apply to don't require calc-based but the BA does. But if I get accepted into Pharm school, I will not finish my degree. If I get rejected from everywhere then I plan to finish it)
- I spaced it out throughout 3 years because I want to be able to do the best I can. I'm very dedicated to getting good grades in college and am very self-motivated.

Anyone have any suggestions?? Anything would be appreciated!! 🙂

If you can afford it, get to the university ASAP.

Organic + Micro + Physio looks pretty damn tough TBH, as does the 3 labs in F2012...

Might as well take it Calc-based.

Yeah looks good so far! :xf:

You will be mainly completing most of your pre-reqs at community college so I would suggest completing all the pre-reqs and apply for pharmacy school(that is what I am doing. Yes I go to a cc also and I will finish all my prereqs in 3 years with a couple of summer semesters). You don't need to transfer to a 4 year uni unless you are intending to apply to schools that require BA (mostly CA schools).
To be honest, your schedule and game plan is really similar to mine(I will finish all my prereqs in spring 2012 . Apply to several pharmacy schools and if I don't get in, transfer to a 4 year uni to work on BA and keep applying.) you can space them out whatever you like as long as you can finish them by the time you matriculate. From what I have seen, it is almost impossible to finish all the prerequisites in just 2 years. Especially if you are applying to more than 2-3 schools. (I am applying to about 7-8).

I will also exhort you to NOT take any science classes with labs in the summer. That bio that you want to take in the summer should be switched with an elective in your fall or spring semester. Some schools don't accept science classes taken in the summer(again check with the schools)

I don't believe in schedule being "too easy" I believe quality is more important than quantity.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I know what you mean about the Bio in summer school, I just didn't know where else to throw it in the mix of classes. Also, I plan on transfering because I have found on this forum that everyone thinks that the more "upper level" classes taken at a university, the better. I would be able to afford a university so I might as well. And yes, I agree that it woud be impossible to finish in 2 years unless I wanted to go insane!

Although it is true that you can take most upper level classes at a 4 year university, it is not necessary to do so. Most pharmacy schools (at least the ones I am applying to) only require the prerequisites to be completed). Taking upper level classes will just enhance your apps.
some schools even stated in their admission process that they do not give preference to those who completed their prereqs at a 4 year uni vs those who completed them in CC.

again it all depends on the school.

Good luck in your studies
by the way i have completed 1 year and 1 summer semester at (brookdale community college). I have taken gen chem 1 and 2, gen bio 1, english 101 and 102, microecon, college alg, trig, world civ(34 credits)

I have a 4.0 as well so HIGH FIVE:laugh:
