hey all,

pre-pharmer here with an important question for all u guys,

At any point during your application and admission process into pharmacy school did the school request information (i.e. adress, phone number, name of employer) regarding your place of employment? For example in my case I am employed at Walgreens as a tech, and I would absolutely dread the fact of my boss having any contact with them, for many different reasons; relationship w/ my boss isnt all that great, neither is his whole personality for that matter, the point is, he would definitely be a hinderance for me if he ends up speaking to the schools...some people tell me that they do request information in your secondary apps, and that they do call your place of employment and talk with your employer, is that true?

any input would be greatly appreciated!!

With so many students apply each year, I don't think they have time to call and ask. You don't have to worry about it at all. Besides, most of the schools don't even require experience. It's recommended, but not required.

DoctorAJ, have you considered transitioning to another retail chain? Pharmacy tech jobs are plentiful, and there are pharmacists out there that go the extra mile for pre-pharmacy students. It's nice having one in your corner.
