Schools may differ on their requirements, but the ones I looked into wanted Interpersonal Communication.

If your university does not offer speech, you can take the class at a community college in your area. However, before you are enrolled in one, you should contact the pharmacy schools you are applying to for a course equivalency list; this list is often found on schools' website under admissions and prospective students.

I had this same problem, I had graduated and not taken a speech class during my years in undergrad. Most pharmacy schools will be explicit with what they want as far as this pre-req is concerned. Find another local comm college or 4 year university that offers it and ask whatever school you are applying to what they would like you to take. With UCSF, for example, I sent them an email about this issue, speech class, they sent me a pre-req list for Arizona State with the correct course listings including the speech req.

Hope this helps.

thank u guys for the help
but i'm in a canadian university now..would the schools in the states know the equivalent credit course for speech is??

I'm thinking that you're going to have to personally call them and check it out. Even if you can see it on their website what it says will transfer correctly, it's just so much safer and SUCH a better bet to call and actually talk to a living breathing person. That way, you can get all of your questions out and answered.

Between the colleges of pharm. that I've been considering, speech is the difference. UT doesn't require it but UH and I think Texas Tech require it. But as for satisfying the requirements, I would definitely call the college that you're wanting to attend. Better safe then to have wasted loads of cash. This one pharmacist I know wasted a year of her classes at ACU so she had to go back and do it all over again to fulfill UT's requirements and no one wants to go through that.
