Hi, I am just wondering if they require calc based physics or a lower end physics without calc. calc is not a strong suit of mine and i would really like to not have to take it. i dont really have a problem with stats, so if at all possible, i would use that as my math instead of calc. anyone have any knowledge as to which physics most of these schools are looking for?

I have also asked this question and research it for myself. Most if not all of the schools only require you to have taken the non-calculus based class. They do also accept the calc based but I don't think it will make one iota of a difference. Also according to my Kaplan MCAT review book, you only need math up to the pre-calc level for the MCAT. A lot of people do claim that the Calc-based physics yields a deeper understanding of the material; however many have been successful on the MCAT and in gaining admissions with just the algebra based. My motto, why torture yourself when you dont have to? unless you are some kind of masochist. Some of the schools do require at least stats, but I have seen a whole bunch of them that don't require a certain math class at al; however I wouldn't try it.

Good Luck 🙂

The physics that I took was not calc based. In fact they told us that it was better for pre-med students and students in the health sciences. So no worries, you don't have to take calc 😀

Good Luck :luck:

Take the trig based.
