Hey guys I hope everyone who is applying this cycle have their stress levels in check, mine are going haywire. Anyways, I just applied and I haven't taken some pre reqs such as A&P1, A&P2, or developmental psych which some programs require but I have taken a neuroanatomy class which I got an A in. My question is that will programs see that as an hinderance since all PT programs require anatomy courses?I have looked throughout the website and people have said they applied and were accepted with 3 or 4 outstanding courses. Also I am taking the first anatomy course right now. I have a GPA of 3.48 -3.58 and an average GRE score.

Thanks

You'll definitely need to take anatomy and physiology. The neuroanatomy class will not act as a stand in.

With that GPA and an average GRE it's possible you may receive an interview (or more) depending on where you apply. I know many outstanding students in my class who were still finishing pre-reqs even into the third week of our summer session. I can only imagine that they'd demonstrated a high enough level of achievement that the committee admitted them on the contingency that they continue that level in their remaining pre-reqs.

If you're enrolled in anatomy now, you'll need to take physiology and developmental psychology in the spring, so be sure that this is a possibility for you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. I know that neuroanatomy will not cut it, but I just thought it may show PT admissions that I have at least some anatomy background. Also I am enrolling in the spring for the rest of my courses.
