  1. Dental Student
I currently just finished my DAT and have been looking into dental school pre reqs' more specifically dental schools in Texas. Most dental school websites state the requirements for biology include anywhere from 8-14 semseters hours of biology. But they never say specifically which biology courses. I only took the first general biology and not the second. I know schools want you to take the second gen. biology in order to prepare you for the DAT, since I already finished and made a 20 on the bio section of the DAT i wonder if it is required to take both the first and second gen. biology.

Here is the list of biology courses I have taken:
1. General biology 1 w/lab
2. Ecology w/lab
3. Microbiology w/lab
4. Human Anatomy w/lab
5. Physiology w/lab
6. Head and Neck Anatomy w/lab
7. Biochemistry w/lab

Please let me know if these would fullfill my requirement for the biology section. Hopefully there is someone who didn't take the second general biology and still got into dental school . Thanks.

Where did you go to school? How are you able to take those other bio classes (isn't bio 2 a pre-req of those classes?)

If I was you I would call the dental schools and ask them directly just to be safe.

This link has the pre-req info. Note that it says NO classes for non-science or health-career majors (nursing, pharm, allied health, etc.) are accepted.

And if i was you I would just take the 2nd bio, b/c im sure the schools want it. You will also be glad you took it before dental school. And if you know the info already then it should be easy, if not then you clearly needed to take it anyway.
