I am getting ready to take the PCAT in Jan but i still need to get some of my pre req done. I was advised by a fellow student that to take a & p etc at a 4 year because most phar schools look down on community college courses, any thoughts of this? ( i am in florida and want to go to either nova or UF)
Thanks

There are like a hundred posts on people debating where to take their pre-reqs. Just look down the page or do a search 🙂

I was in the same boat. I applied to both Nova and UF. I have my BS, but needed to fill in prereqs that I was missing. I contacted both schools before I started and both said that taking classes at cc was no problem at all. So I did, and so far I have been accepted to Nova and am awaiting UF. UF said that about 1/3 of their accepted students are from UF, 1/3 from cc, and 1/3 are from universities.

Sure, my degree gpa is a 2.9 (engineering '05), my pharmcas gpa is 3.2, my science/math gpa is 3.14, and my cc gpa is 4.0 (this includes most of the prereqs)

My PCAT is an 83, the majority of my preparation was from working very hard in my prereqs. I basically took the classes with the intent of retaining the information. I retook the PCAT this October because my reading section was extraordinarily low and I took the Collins course before this most recent test. I am waiting to see how helpful it was. It felt like it was very helpful (I would recommend it).

PM me if you would like me to copy to you the email from Nova and UF regarding cc prereqs.
