do pharmacy schools take AP credit for their pre-reqs?
does anyone know for UGA specifically?

also, do they really care what english you took? i didn't take eng 101; i took a comparative literature class that go toward the english requirement at my school.

thanks!

The pharmacy schools I applied to did for some requirements. Have you checked the school's website? It should have information on whether or not they do, and if so for which tests and scores.

Look at their website and see. If that doesn't answer your question, you'll have to call the school directly and get their opinion.

Most pharmacy schools require at least one to two semesters of English composition, so they may not take your comp lit class. Again, confirm with the school directly so that you don't screw yourself up later on.

Are there any pre-reqs that you recommend not using AP credit for? (I'm mainly concerned about biology)

I earned credits for numerous courses (Gen Chemistry, Calculus, Foreign Language) through AP exams. While applying I contacted most of the schools about AP exams, and majority of schools did not have any problems with my AP credits in pre-pharm courses. However, some of the schools are very strict about AP credits. For example, U of Michigan would not count any of my AP credits, and therefore, I could not apply to this particular school. My suggestion is to contact admission staff and explain your situation with AP credits and see what they say.

I know they will accept them, but do you think I really need to take actual college bio to do good on the pcat or do you think i'll be fine if I just get a book and review it?

Hi, why don't you go get a pcat book and review it to see whether you need to take a class or not. Use some common sense.

I personally think if you have your notes and textbook from your bio class, you will be fine just reviewing it. I had AP credits for Gen Chem, so I just reviewed my notes and textbook and I received 99 percentile on Chem section of PCAT. However, I always understood chemistry very well. So I think it depends on how confident you feel about biology.
